CAR BAGGAGE DNA (EXPO 2005) WIND GENERATOR BLADES PROMOTIONAL STANDS PLASTIC WINDOWS OTHER CAR BAGGAGE DNA (EXPO 2005) Lithuania’s environment preservation ministry organized contest for Lithuania’s exposition in world exhibition „EXPO 2005“ project. There was presented 5 projects, the “2 DNA” project was accepted as the best project. This project was prepared and presented by authors collective: architects Audrius and Marina Bučai and Valdas Ozarinskas, art critic Erika Grigoravičienė, manager Andrius Kleiza. Accordingly exhibition’s general commissar Romas Jankauskas, this project was chosen because of its originality, simplicity and clear idea, also its frugality criteria. „2 DNA“ is very attractive and flexible project, which, differently than last exhibitions, based on traditional folk art Lithuania expositions, allows to create the vision of high-tech seeking country. An idea of author’s collective brought to life AB “Sportinė aviacija”. „This is multiplex project, authors of project, we worked with them before, already knowing our possibilities they proposed this project and won contest” – says “Sportinė aviacija” managing director Stasys Skalskis. Interesting that, spiral, spiral molds are produced using same technology as “Sportinė aviacija” uses for gliders and trailers for gliders building, same materials is used as they are used in trailers building. 17,092 m long, 8-cm thick spirals, which inner diameter 5,2 m, production from scratch took 2 moths. Lithuania’s pavilion space was filled by DNA molecule look like constructions. There was chosen DNA, the most important organism bio-molecule, shape - spiral. Everyone knows, that DNA and these constituent parts – genes carries/transmits information. So form of exposit is well understandable for everyone. Inside of the pavilion were mounted spiral constructions, made from light fiberglass. In its inner side/space there were mounted screens ,on which were displayed short, about 30 seconds long, various content video recordings about Lithuania.
